A new friend of our community

“Father Varlaam, the staretz of Partos Monastery in Romania, died on November 3rd, after he battled with Covid for eighteen days; he was forty-two years old.
Father Varlaam, or ‘Padre,’ as people simply called him, served as a priest for fourteen years. He studied at many schools. However, what people remembered most about him when he died were his joyful life, his welcoming presence to everybody, and his care for the poor and the children from the village where the monastery is located. He was also remembered for the special attention he gave to the Roma community from the Romanian village. It looks like God takes the good ones to Him to give them rest. Please pray for us, those who struggle here, so our struggle is not in vain.”
